Shot during last year's national competition, Barista! follows five baristas as they work their way through competition. A smart and intriguing behind-the-scenes glimpse into an American subculture.

Shanghai Tunnels

An experimental documentary about the Portland underground or “Shanghai” tunnels. Viewed and formatted in a triptych fashion, this documentary encompasses footage from three different directors working together on a single subject.


Devil Doing Needlepoint - director: Wendy Jo Downing (April 2005)
A little girl takes a beautiful doll from a stranger and in so doing, loses her innocence and purity. She falls victim to the dangers of the world and the doll ends up having the last laugh.


Days Like This - director: Chris Cooley (March 2005)
This short film follows a day in the life of a solipsistic old man whose job just happens to be killing people. Hardened and jaded by a rough life, all he has to live for now is his routine.

A compilation of dances from across the world from teacher, David Rutiezer. David explains his teaching methods for different dances and the implications they have on our culture and our children.

Late Bloomer Productions is a Portland, Oregon-based independent film production company started in February 2005 by multimedia producer Wendy Jo Downing. Since then LBP has produced many great short narratives and documentaries. We also handle event and media planning, and have delved into teaching classes and workshops.
